All I want for Christmas – Day 3
Categories:
Welcome to the third in the series of festive fun questions that we are asking members of our team. Today is the turn of Sandra, one of the lovely ladies who work at the front counter in our store. We also ask Sandra what would be her dream Christmas gift if she could choose anything from our extensive range of cookware and kitchen electricals. Name: Sandra Fowles Role: Sales Assistant Festive persona: Definitely bah humbug! What would be your dream Christmas gift and why? I would love the KitchenAid Artisan Kettle & Toasterto match my mixer I had for Christmas a few years ago. I don't like clutter in my kitchen, but these pieces I would be happy to keep out on my worktop.
10 Christmas Questions
Q: Christmas jumpers… yes or no? A: Before I worked for Harts it would have been a definite no, but now... YES! Q: Favourite Christmas song? A: Let It Snow by Dean Martin. Q: Favourite Christmas Movie? A: It's not a traditional festive film but Bridget Jones's Diary - "Yum, turkey curry!" Q: What’s your first memory of Christmas? A: Always getting up ridiculously early with my sister. Our presents would be left in a pillowcase at the end of our beds and we would take them into my mum's room and then open them in her bed. Always before breakfast. Q: Brussels sprouts… yes or no? A: A definite yes to Brussels sprouts! Q: What’s on the top of your tree? A: I have a big star on my tree but I also have a fairy which is the same age as me. She has a very freckly face - very 70s! Q: Post-Christmas dinner activity? A: We are usually so full we just have a lazy afternoon. We'll probably play a game then open up some presents. Q: What is your favourite Christmas tradition? A: I do enjoy cooking Christmas dinner (it's a good excuse for a cheeky wine). As my boys are older I don't always have them home with me for Christmas dinner. If not, I will usually see them in the evening when they get to open their presents. Oh, and then eat yummy cheeses, sausage rolls and Twiglets. Boxing Day is normally my big family get-together. Q: Favourite Christmas food? A: It has to be Christmas Pudding sprinkled in sugar then drenched in cream. My granddad always had sugar on his pudding. It's just not the same without it. Q: When you were young, what was the one present you always asked for, but never received?A: I don't actually remember. I suppose I would have been disappointed if I didn't get a new outfit for my Sindy doll.
More about KitchenAid
The KitchenAid brand name was born nearly a century ago when Ohio engineer Herbert Johnson invented the first household eggbeater. During the testing phase the wife of one of the company directors exclaimed: “I don’t care what you call it, it’s the best kitchen aid I’ve ever had”. During the following years the brand has never stopped inventing and improving innovative solutions for cooks. In the 1930s, KitchenAid recruited Egmont Arens, a nationally acclaimed editor and world-renowned designer, to create three new stand mixer models. Arens’ concepts held such timeless simplicity and function that they remain virtually unchanged to this day. Always a trendsetter, KitchenAid introduced daring new colours at the 1955 Atlantic City Housewares Show which were a bold departure from the white appliances seen in kitchens of the time. In 2013 KitchenAid introduced the new Artisan line comprising a 4L Food Processor, Electric Kettle, Cordless Blender, 2 and 4 slice Toasters and 14 and 16 cup Food Processors. Today, the KitchenAid stand mixer boasts the widest range of colours on the market. The original tilt-head stand mixer remains timeless in its simplicity and function. A style icon of the 21st century, it continues to deliver uncompromising performance and is, quite simply, the ultimate culinary companion for both gourmet chefs and home cooks worldwide.
