The Mousetrap Theatre - Something Else Fishy
Categories:
Harts of Stur are proud to be sponsoring the Mousetrap theatre at the Sturminster Newton Cheese Festival for the third year running. We have a great line up of demonstrations including great chefs featuring delicious recipes, baking fun for the kids and professional masterclasses in wine-making, butchery and curing to name but a few. In the build up to the festival we will be introducing each demonstrator in a mini-bio and series of questions and answers about their work and what they enjoy about the cheese festival. The next blog in our series is all about Martyn Else from Something Else Fishy
Introducing Martyn Else from Something Else Fishy
Martyn Else is the owner and chef at Something Else Fishy, based in Milborne Port, Dorset. Along with his wife Nicola they also have Seafood’s of Stalbridge which is a provider of fresh fish in the local area. With fish sourced from Dorset, Devon and Cornwall and Lobsters from Weymouth for tasty, fresh and local produce.
Tell us who or what inspired you to start Something Else Fishy?
I have a real passion for anything related to fish and I love fish and chips. As fishmongers by trade it was natural progression for us to buy a fish and chip shop. From then on we have never looked back.
What are you most looking forward to seeing or doing at the Cheese festival?
I really enjoy the cheese festival, the hustle and bustle and generally seeing families enjoying themselves. I really enjoy the food stalls and usually spend a fortune.
What is your favourite Cheese?
I really enjoy a good mature cheddar but am the only one in my family that likes cheese. I like the idea of tucking into a good cheese board but sadly very seldom do.
What would be your food heaven and what would be your food hell?
When it comes to food there is nothing that I don't like, I would happily eat fish everyday but I have to have a good rib eye steak from my families butcher shop as it would be rude not to.
When and Where?
You will be able to see Martyn on stage at the Mousetrap Theatre on Sunday 10th September at 11am. Please come along and we hope you enjoy the Cheese Festival.
